F.V.K./E.M.G. (1986-1989)

Likely Delaware's first punk band to tour outside the mid-Atlantic region, F.V.K./E.M.G. had their beginnings as a two-piece by Jeff and Bobo in 1986 in Milford, DE. Challenging northern Delaware's presumption as the cultural center of the state, FVK was very connected to the Maximumrocknroll DIY world and tied into Kamala's Book Your Own Fucking Life booking system, bringing national acts to rural central/southern Delaware. FVK's sound was more inspired by sounds like Dead Kennedys but imagine swapping out some of the DK's overt political focus with some renegade Delaware mischief. Putting out their sole LP in 1988, FVK toured down to Florida and played with Operation Ivy in Gainesville, Florida on Op Ivy's only tour. The following year, they would host shows for Bay Area bands such as Neurosis and Mr. T Experience at their Psychedelic Love Ranch band house. Members would go on to play in Carnal Ghia, work with GWAR, and to own the long time New York bar institution Beauty Bar.
