**ELDRITCH ANISETTE** (1996-1997)Tim Nichols had only recently started high school and already his drumming was dropping older peers' jaws in Newark, Delaware bands such as [Clevinger](https://wiki-app-977228007511.us-central1.run.app/wiki/clevinger) and Network 34. When [Clevinger](https://wiki-app-977228007511.us-central1.run.app/wiki/clevinger) broke up, Tim and singer Courtney Miller brought in Tim's teenage bandmate and friend Marc Krupanski, as well as guitarist Allen Hitchens, and Eldritch Anisette was formed. The origin of the band’s name came from Courtney liking the word “anisette” for a type of liquor and Allen’s suggestion that they use the word “eldritch”, meaning "strange and unearthly," popularized in describing Lovecraftian horror.Eldritch Anisette’s first show was in April 1996 at Girl’s Inc, and although they played only a dozen shows, they were an integral part of the local Enoch Collective scene during their short lifespan. During the winter of 96/97, they recorded 6 songs with Nick Rotundo at Clay Creek Recording Studios. Out of this came their only release - a self-titled and self-released 7”. Each of the 500 copies were hand tied with a yarn bow. Within a few months of the release of *Eldritch Anisette*, the band disbanded and the remaining three tracks sat on a shelf until Numero Group reissued their complete recordings in August 2025. Eldritch Anisette will play their first show in almost 30 years in June 2026 in southern California.*(Approximate) band address:* 39.74663445426351, -75.73862428238374*Members:* Courtney Miller, Allen Hitchens, Tim Nichols, Marc Krupanski*List of releases:* [Discogs](https://www.discogs.com/artist/2282230-Eldritch-Anisette)- Eldritch Anisette s/t 7" (St. Vitus's Dance 1997)- Complete Fairytales 12" compilation (Numero Group 2025)*Links:*- [Eldritch Anisette shows on DMHA map](https://www.delawaremusichistory.com/map.html?band=Eldritch%20Anisette)- [Eldritch Anisette Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/eldritch_anisette/)- [Eldritch Anisette Bandcamp](https://numerogroup.bandcamp.com/track/eldritch-anisette-dissection-of-silence)- [Eldritch Anisette Numero Group release page](https://numerogroup.com/products/complete-fairytales)- [Sputnik Music review from 2019](sputnikmusic.com/review/79639/Eldritch-Anisette-Eldritch-Anisette/)- [Interview on KCPR](https://kcpr.org/90s-underground/)# Photos{500}Photo by Mari Bell{500}Photo by Andrea Coan{400}Photo by Mel Carney Pope{450}{400}# Media mention + Interview{300}[2026 Interview](https://kcpr.org/90s-underground/)Top 10 list from [HeartattaCk 47 (2005)](https://archive.org/details/heartattack_47/mode/2up?q=%22ELDRITCH+ANISETTE%22)# Flyers and Posters[Eldritch Anisette Shows on Map](https://www.delawaremusichistory.com/map.html?band=Eldritch%20Anisette)Delaware gigs{400}{300}{300}{300}{300}{300}{300}{300}{450}# Misc{300}October 19, 1996 set list in Chris Haug's collection{300}Original Patch from Allen Hitchens
